What is the Minnesota Force?

The Minnesota Force is a non-profit group of Science-Fiction and Fantasy fans who have been brought together by a common interest in Star Wars. We meet for regular social outings, book club, role play gaming, charity work and costuming.

Who can Join the Minnesota Force?

Anyone from the hard core fan to the Causal movie go'er who just thinks Han Solo is cool. The Minnesota Force is a group open to all ages and walks of life. We do not discriminate on the basis of physical, ethnic, religious or political backgrounds or affiliations, including allegiance to the Sith or the forces of Sauron.

Do you allow minors to Join?

If Anakin can blow up a Trade Federation Droid control ship at 10 years old then someone under 18 should be be allowed to Join our club. We do ask that parents/guardians take the time to also get to know us. Parents are always welcome to attend any group function and have access to all communications their child has access too. Please note; We can not act as chaperone for minors. Anyone under 16 should attend with a Parent or guardian and anyone 16 or over will be expected to be responsible for themselves or also attend with a guardian.

How do I join?

You must go to the Dagobah system. Simply come to our public events and/or post on our message boards. We do have some communications that are kept private for safety reasons. We do ask people come to a few public meetings so we can get to know you before granting access to private communications.

Is alcohol ever served at club events?

Yes but rarely. Relevent Age laws are always strictly enforced and notice will be posted for Parents. We also do not serve droids.

How are members expected to behave at meetings or events?

How uncivilized! Common sense should be use to determine the appropriate behavior for the venue and/or other people present.

Are there any costs to being a member?

Republic credits are no good here. Any operational items that do cost money are strictly voluntary. No member should feel required to chip in. Members will have to pay for their own way to any activities, dinners, or movies.

Can new members participate in Planning of events and Activities?

We are a committee! We plan events using the Event planning Forum on our message boards. All members are encouraged participate on all levels from giving basic ideas to making final arrangements.

Do all members have a say in how the club is run?

We will make it legal! All important club decisions shall be voted on and any member is free to make suggestions for consideration. The club does have two Co-Leaders who act as administrators. Their Job is to insure the club continues to operate, that activities are planned, and make final choices on disputed matters or anytime a consensus can not be reached. The Co-Leaders are also expected to deal with any issues that may arise.

How are the co-leaders chosen?

They are politicians and not to be trusted. Co-leaders are chosen by a nomination and voting process with a simple majority rules. Once a year a vote will be held to see if members wish a new election.

How do you deal with personal conflicts?

No blasters! We understand that sometimes personalities clash but we like to think everyone can agree to get along on some level. In those cases where this isn't possible then attempts should be made, by the persons involved, to privately resolve the issue. Members may contact the Personal Conflict Mediator who has volunteered to act as an unbiased facilitator on these issues. Members are asked to keep Personal conflicts out of public view.

What Happens if the Message board isn't working?

Lock the door, and hope they don't have blasters. If for some reason our Ezboard is down for more than just a short time you will find members posting noticed over on our
FanForce Jedi council board or you may email one of the club leaders for more information. Members are welcome to use our Fan Force boards at any time.

Is there anything else a new member needs to know?

Yes, Jedi Mind tricks on fellow members are discouraged, Lightsabers should not be used to cut birthday cakes since it can easily damage tables, and no feeding the wampas. Oh and Order 66 happened a long time ago so purging of Jedi is no longer allowed.
